Some of those good fruits were in Blessed John Paul's writings such as papal encyclicals, for example Laborem Exercens (On Human Work), Evangelium Vitae (The Gospel of Life), Fides et Ratio (Faith and Reason). Additionally, he also had his audiences where he was able to convey his work on the Theology of the Body (TOB), a collection of 129 speeches he gave during his Wednesday audiences starting in 1979.
These audiences delve into our relationship with God, his divine plan and how it is expressed through our bodies, weak as it may be. Coming from the TOB Institute, it gives a hearty description of the TOB.
"John Paul’s theology of the body not only paves the way for lasting renewal of marriage and the family; it enables everyone to rediscover 'the meaning of the whole of existence, the meaning of life' (TOB 46:6)".
This is where Jason Evert comes in. Together with his wife and others in love with Blessed John Paul, he was able to share pure love, the TOB, and the Church to thousands of young people worldwide. In one program, he describes the love of God and the Church not as just a set of rules. He tells a story about his son licking the end of the flyswatter because he was hungry. Jason explained to him that that is not the food that is good for him. He then got a popsicle from the ref and explained that that was what he was really longing for and the flyswatter won't really satisfy him.
It is what Blessed John Paul was trying to teach us about what God wants us to know, that humans are made to love - and be loved - with pure love. Jason added that Blessed John Paul "revealed to us our dignity, reminded us of our desire to love," and that is to love totally, faithfully, freely, and fruitfully.
So I heard from the grapevine that on September 7, 2013, Jason Evert will be coming back to Manila for Real Love Revolution. This will be at the PICC Plenary Hall, CCP Complex and there will be morning and afternoon sessions. Click on the link to positiveagent.org since I don't know all the details.
