Prayers in Tagalog

Our Father - Ama Namin - Tagalog version

Ama Namin sumasalangit ka
sambahin ang ngalan mo;
mapasaamin ang kaharian mo;
sundin ang loob mo dito sa lupa
para nang sa Langit

Bigyan mo kami ngayon
ng aming kakanin sa araw-araw;
at patawarin mo kami sa aming mga sala
para nang pagpapatawad namin
sa mga nagkasala sa amin
at huwag mo kaming ipahintulot sa tukso
at iadya mo kami sa lahat ng masama.  Amen

Hail Mary - Aba Ginoong Maria - Tagalog version

Aba Ginoong Maria napupuno ka ng grasya;
ang Panginoong Diyos ay sumasaiyo;
bukod kang pinagpala sa babaeng lahat
at pinagpala naman ang iyong Anak na si Hesus.

Santa Maria, Ina ng Diyos,
ipanalangin mo kaming makasalanan;
ngayon at kung kami'y mamamatay. Amen

Glory Be - Luwalhati - Tagalog version

Luwalhati sa Ama, at sa Anak, at sa Espiritu Santo.

Kapara noong unang-una, ngayon magpakailanman
at magpasawalang hanggan.  Amen

Act of Contrition - in English

Act of Contrition
This version is one used most recently that I have noticed.

O, my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you. I detest all my sins because of your just punishment, but most of all because they offend you, my God, who are all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen

This version would be recognizable for some who learned this in the 1970s and 80s.

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you.  I detest all my sins because I fear the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all because I offended you, my God, who are all-good and worthy of all my love.  I firmly resolve to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life. Amen

Amen.

The Memorare

This prayer, written by Fr. Claud Bernard in the 15th century, is a sweet honest prayer for our Lady's help.  It is said St. Francis de Sales prayed this prayer every day in the midst of his most stressful trials.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.  Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins my Mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of thy Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.Amen.

The Memorare - in Tagalog Filipino

O Ina ng Verbong nagkatawang-tao, huwag mo nawang siphayuin ang aking pagsamo ngunit dinggin mo nawa at iyong kaawaan. Amen

The Angelus

The Angelus is prayed everyday on 6AM, 12NN and 6PM commemorating the announcement of the Angel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Immaculate Conception.  The prayer, around since the 1000's, was traditionally recited by monks.

The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary:
All: And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary...
Behold the handmaid of the Lord: All: Be it done unto me according to Thy word.
Hail Mary . . .
And the Word was made Flesh: All: And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary . . .

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray:
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

Regina Coeli

An ancient Marian hymn since the 1300's, it replaces the Angelus during the time of Easter until Pentecost.

Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia. / For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.
Has risen, as he said, alleluia. / Pray for us to God, alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia. / For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.
Let us pray. O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
