It's September 8. I've been thinking of Our Lady in the present context and how would I be able to show my appreciation for her on her birthday. She's perhaps close to that simple but grace-filled person you may have seen with their son. A laugh or two were exchanged, the boy smiling intently at her.
Also, unlike any other, she is the mother of Our Lord. She is the queen mother. If you remember Solomon, the son of David, and the King of Israel after David had Bathsheba on his right side. She ruled as the queen mother. In Scott Hahn's book, Hail Holy Queen, the queen mother was the gebirah or the "great lady".
